"Mary deGroat Ross grew up in a small college town in western New York. One of six siblings with two educator parents, she was the one with a wild imagination. Believing in the fantasy world and spending her life searching for fairies, she never gave up on one day finding them in forests or meadows.
Writing about the little people has given her an outlet for her beliefs and helps her lose herself in a world that she would love to live in. Birdie, an elderly fairy, is the personification of the fairy she has been chasing her whole life. Maybe you will recognize her world in your own imagination and come to love Birdie as much as she does."
